Nollywood actress Ngozi Ezeonu has denied circulating reports of her death.

Taking to her Instagram account, she shared a video to directly address the rumors, explaining that a recent post featuring a candle was a heartfelt tribute to a friend she recently lost.

Expressing frustration, Ezeonu lamented that bloggers had seized upon the tribute to propagate a false narrative of her demise.

The seasoned actress cautioned against the irresponsible spread of death rumors without proper evidence and confirmation.

In her own words, she emphasized, “I lost a very close friend of mine; I posted a candle, a half-burnt candle, and they now put my picture on that candle, and everybody is saying that I died. It is wrong. I am alive and healthy, please.”

Ezeonu, advocating for ethical journalism, urged caution when in doubt and emphasized the importance of verifying stories before publication.

She discouraged the repetition of such actions and questioned the motive behind spreading misinformation, particularly at the beginning of the new year.

Known for her iconic portrayal of motherly roles in Nollywood, Ngozi Ezeonu has featured in more than 150 films, including well-known titles like ‘Nneka The Pretty Serpent’ and ‘Glamour Girls.’

Despite the reports, she reassured her audience of her well-being and called for a more responsible approach to news dissemination.
