Football Transfer – Manchester United are reportedly considering selling Antony, just 18 months after his £85 million ($104m) transfer to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils signed the Brazilian winger from Ajax in the summer of 2022 in a high-value deal. However, Antony only managed to score eight goals in his first season with the club. This season, he has yet to score and has also been involved in domestic abuse allegations outside of football.
According to The Sun, Manchester United is reportedly ready to sell Antony in January as part of a squad overhaul. This move comes as Sir Jim Ratcliffe, an incoming investor, plans to provide Erik ten Hag with a significant budget for recruitment. The team is actively looking for a new winger and full-back.
Furthermore, Manchester United is open to offers for Jadon Sancho in the upcoming year. The England international has been excluded from the first-team squad by Ten Hag, leading to his potential departure. Additionally, there is a possibility of French striker Anthony Martial being transferred.
Scott McTominay has reportedly regained favor at Old Trafford after his impressive performances. Despite rumors of a potential move during the summer, the Scottish midfielder has scored three important goals this season. As a result, it is anticipated that he will remain at the club for the foreseeable future.
