Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has responded to media reports claiming his administration allocated N6bn for the Ramadan Feeding Programme.

Allub Times reports that Kano chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday challenged governor Yusuf to justify the alleged N6bn budget for the feeding programme.

In a tweet on Sunday, Governor Yusuf clarified that only N1.97 billion has been spent on the program.

He wrote: “Over the past few days, I’ve observed heightened media speculations about our government purportedly budgeting the sum of N6bn for the Ramadan Feeding Programme.

“I wish to categorically state that the actual amount for the programme is the sum of N1.97bn for the whole month.

“I also counsel the media to ensure that they get their figures regarding our projects from the proper sources without giving credence to speculative figures.”

He expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of the feeding program in Kano during an unscheduled inspection at a feeding center in Gidan Maza, Municipal Local Government Area.

Yusuf criticized the program handlers for not properly serving the intended beneficiaries.
