Just In: Car Plunges Into Ogun River After Multiple Collisions

The Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps issued a traffic alert on Saturday, informing the public that the Ota-Idiroko Road in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state was completely blocked.

The traffic congestion was caused by several accidents involving a truck, two tricycles, and a car on the Iju River Bridge.

It was reported that the car had fallen into the river.

FRSC operatives and other security agencies are currently at the scene, managing the situation while waiting for a crane to assist with the rescue operation.

Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Ogun FRSC Sector Command, made this known in a statement that was provided to journalists.

Okpe said, “Crash had occurred at Iju Bridge along Otta /Idiroko Road. It involves a truck, two tricycles and a Camry car.

“Otta-Idiroko Road is blocked while the small car is plunged into the river.

“A crane is already mobilised to the scene while effort is also on to remove the car from the river.

“Otta – Idiroko route is completely blocked, operatives are on the ground managing the situation.”
