Following his abrupt dismissal by the Serie A team, Jose Mourinho wrote a heartfelt letter to the supporters of Roma.

The 60-year-old was fired on Tuesday morning following a poor run of play that included just one victory in five Serie A games and last week’s Coppa Italia elimination at the hands of city rivals Lazio.

With Giallorossi now sitting ninth in the standings, Daniele de Rossi will take over as manager of Chelsea until the end of the current campaign. Now, Mourinho has sent an emotional farewell letter to the club’s supporters on Instagram.

The former Real Madrid manager wrote on Instagram on Tuesday night: “Sudore, sangue, lacrime, allegria, tristezza, amoR, fratelli, storia, cuore, eternità.” (Sweat, blood, tears, joy, sadness, love, brothers, history, heart, eternity).

After taking over in May 2021, Mourinho guided Roma to the Europa Conference League title the following year and the Europa League final in 2023. The former Inter Milan manager has numerous trophies throughout Europe, but following his most recent dismissal, it seems that his influence in the management game may be eroding.

While soccer fans anxiously await Mourinho’s future managerial position, Roma will play home to relegation-threatened Verona in Serie A on Saturday in an effort to cut down on the five-point deficit that separates them from Champions League qualifying spots.
