Japan Thanks Saudi Arabia, UAE For Evacuation Of Nationals From Sudan

According to the foreign ministry of Japan, Saudi Arabia and the UAE were instrumental in assisting Japan evacuate 45 persons from Sudan on Monday, including both citizens and foreigners.

According to the foreign ministry of Japan, Saudi Arabia and the UAE were instrumental in assisting Japan evacuate 45 persons from Sudan on Monday, including both citizens and foreigners.

Women and children were among the evacuees who were airlifted from Port Sudan in the east of the country to Djibouti on an Air Self-Defense Force C-2 cargo plane. The Self-Defense Forces, the Japanese Ministry of Defense, and other ministries and organizations worked closely together to complete the mission.

Separately, four Japanese citizens were transferred from the Sudan to Djibouti and Ethiopia with the assistance of France and the International Red Cross.

Japan coordinated the evacuation with the UN, the International Red Cross, South Korea, France, Germany, the US, and the UK.

The Japanese government urged all parties to immediately put an end to the violence and added that, in collaboration with other nations and international organizations, it has done everything in its power to protect Japanese citizens.
