Inter Miami has announced the squad numbers for the 2024 MLS season, revealing which jerseys Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez will wear.
The team, known as the Herons, achieved a significant victory in the League Cup in 2023, shortly after Messi joined the club.
They are now aiming to win more major trophies in the upcoming season.
Before the competitive matches begin, Inter Miami has a series of friendly games scheduled, including their first international tour and matches against notable teams like Vissel Kobe, Newell’s Old Boys, and Cristiano Ronaldo‘s Al-Nassr.
The club’s official website has revealed the players’ assigned numbers for the upcoming games. It comes as no surprise that Messi will continue to wear his beloved No. 10 shirt. Newcomer Suarez will wear No. 9, while Busquets and Alba will keep their numbers 5 and 18, respectively. USMNT star Julian Gressel will now wear No. 24.
Messi will be part of Inter Miami’s first pre-season match in 2024, as he is included in their traveling squad. The team will face El Salvador on Friday and then play against domestic rivals FC Dallas on Monday. After that, they will travel to Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, and Japan. They will also have a match against Newell’s on their home ground before the new MLS campaign begins on February 21.
