Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has promised to stop the violent attacks and killings in the Southeast region of the country within two minutes of being released.
The Federal High Court in Abuja recently refused to grant Kanu bail. During the court proceedings, Kanu stated that his authority in the Southeast region cannot be challenged by anyone.
He also accused certain government officials of profiting from the deteriorating security situation in the area.
”I suspect that some people in government are complicit. They are making money with this insecurity. They know if Nnamdi Kanu is outside, in two minutes, this nonsense will stop,” Kanu told journalists.
“Anybody involved in any form of violence in the South-East in the name of IPOB, let me come out of this nonsense, this mess, only two minutes, I guarantee you, and there will be peace in the South-East.”
