How Phyno Treated Me Before Fame – Rapper Zoro Narrates

Published:

Music – Nigerian hip-hop artist, Owoh Chimaobi Chrismathner, who is also known as Zoro Swagbag, recently shared that he was once given a place to stay by the well-known rapper Phyno before he became famous.

Zoro Swagbag mentioned that he used to sleep on the floor in one of the vacant rooms at the house of Phyno, who is the boss of Penthauze Record label.

This happened before Zoro Swagbag’s hit song ‘Ogene’ became popular. He revealed this during a recent episode of the Zero Conditions podcast.

Zoro said, “When my song ‘Ogene’ dropped, I was still in Phyno’s house. I was sleeping in an empty room that didn’t had a bed. I just had my shirt that I tie my dirty clothes on and use it as pillow and sleep on the floor.

“I loaned money to fund the video of ‘Ogene’. Flavour also supported me.”

Zoro mentioned that he departed from Phyno’s residence in 2016 due to an incident where someone stole money from the Penthauze boss.

Additionally, Zoro stated that the song ‘Ogene’ gained popularity among the diaspora before Nigerian fans caught on to the trend.
