Pep Guardiola believes that Chelsea is a superior team compared to Arsenal, following Manchester City’s 4-4 draw against the Blues.
The match between Chelsea and Manchester City was an exciting Premier League encounter, with Cole Palmer’s late penalty goal securing a draw for the hosts at Stamford Bridge. Despite not winning the game, Guardiola expressed his admiration for Mauricio Pochettino’s team’s performance and stated that Chelsea is a stronger side than Arsenal.
Despite currently being in 10th place on the points table, Pochettino‘s team has achieved an impressive feat by remaining undefeated against three of the top four teams in the league. They managed to secure draws against Arsenal (2-2) and Manchester City (4-4), while also comfortably defeating Tottenham 4-1.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Guardiola said, “They are a really good team so there’s no doubt. Liverpool couldn’t win. They were much, much better than Arsenal and in the end, Arsenal drew. So you know, it’s Chelsea, they won’t go away. I always have to think about what we can do to get better. It’s not going to happen that we come here and win 7-0. They are trying to rebuild. We have no complaints.
“We go into [the break] top of the league and I didn’t expect that after the Arsenal defeat. The next games are really tough.”
The Premier League will now take a break due to international matches and will resume on November 25. The first game after the break will be an exciting clash between Manchester City and Liverpool.
