Popular Nigerian gospel artist Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, have given birth to their first child.
Mercy Chinwo married Pastor Blessed in Port Harcourt on August 13, 2022. The pair, on the other hand, lives in Lagos, Nigeria.
Chinwo came to social media on Friday to reveal the happy news, posting a music video of herself embracing her baby bump and thanking her creator for the new addition.
The artist thanked God for filling their hearts with joy and their lips with testimonies. Though the singer did not divulge the gender of the child, it is widely assumed that the pair had a son.
She wrote:
“Lord, we are grateful; we approach Your throne with heartfelt songs of praise and thanksgiving.
“You’ve filled our hearts with joy, our lips with testimonies, and our home with celebration. Indeed YOU DO THIS ONE.

Messages of congratulations have been pouring in for the new parents. Congratulatory notes have been sent by gospel music pastors, friends and families, and well-wishers, including renowned vocalist, Frank Edwards (a.k.a. Frank Richboy).
