Ghali Umar Na’abba, former Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Fourth Republic, has died.
He died in the early hours of Wednesday at the age of 65 after suffering an illness, according to the DAILY POST.
Na’abba was elected to the House of Representatives from Kano State in 1999.
He was elected Speaker a few months after the House was inaugurated, following the departure of the previous Speaker, Salisu Buhari, from the same Kano State, over a certificate fraud issue.
He recently defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the major opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
