The government of President Bola Tinubu has asked the controversial Islamic cleric, Ahmad Gumi, from Kaduna, to come in for questioning regarding his comments on bandits in the country.

The Minister of Information and Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced this on Monday at the State House in Abuja.

Idris mentioned that Gumi is not exempt from the law, and it is necessary for the government to speak with him.

Gumi has been supporting bandits and terrorists involved in kidnappings and attacks for several years.

In a recent interview, Gumi advised Tinubu to control the military’s actions against terrorist hideouts.

He also suggested that the federal government should consider granting amnesty to the many bandits causing trouble in the country, similar to what was done during the Musa Yar’Adua administration.
