Everton boosted their hope of relegation survival on Thursday night with a resounding 3-0 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Within the span of seven minutes, two horrendous mistakes by Kieran Trippier handed Sean Dyche’s team a victory as Everton continued their remarkable comeback and moved out of the bottom three.

After 79 minutes, Trippier made a mistake just inside his own half, giving Dwight McNeil the opportunity to sprint half the length of the pitch and score with his left foot from just inside the box.

And not too long after, Jack Harrison took advantage of a fatigued-looking Trippier by racing far into Newcastle territory and advancing to square up for an unmarked, quick-thinking Abdoulaye Doucoure to sweep the ball in.

After chasing down a through ball from Nathan Patterson and dodging two advancing defenders, substitute Beto scored his first Premier League goal in the 96th minute from six yards out.

While it wasn’t a classic, there was a lot riding on this very entertaining match between two clubs going through different kinds of “crises.”

The Toffees eventually did themselves the good with the 3-0 win at Goodison Park.

Although Everton’s 10-point deduction for violating the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules is being appealed, relegation remains a real threat until Everton supporters and manager Dyche see some or all of those points returned to the scoreboard.
