Kobbie Mainoo scored his first Premier League goal at the perfect moment, leading Manchester United to a thrilling 4-3 victory against Wolves.
Initially, United seemed to have squandered their 3-1 lead when Maximilian Kilman narrowed the deficit to one goal in the 85th minute, followed by Pedro Neto‘s stoppage-time equalizer.
However, Mainoo, who was substituted in for his debut Premier League match, received a pass from Omari Forson and confidently drove forward to secure the winning goal just two minutes later.
The 18-year-old’s first goal in the Premier League and his second for United were the objectives. He had previously scored in last week’s 4-2 victory against Newport County in the FA Cup. This season, he has played in the English top-flight eight times, and the match against Wolves marked his sixth consecutive start in the league.
Mainoo is expected to maintain his position in Erik ten Hag’s team for their upcoming Premier League match against West Ham on Sunday. The Hammers are currently one point and one place ahead of United in the league standings. However, the Red Devils have remained undefeated in their last four matches across all competitions, while David Moyes’ team has drawn four and lost one of their previous five games.
