The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is currently investigating the forex transactions of 52 companies that took place while Godwin Emefiele was the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

As part of the investigation, the EFCC has conducted a search at the office of Dangote Company PLC in Lagos.

Dele Oyewale, the spokesperson for the EFCC, has not commented on the raid.

In recent months, investigators have accused the CBN of showing favouritism and benefiting certain individuals and companies by allocating foreign exchange to them in a non-transparent manner.
