Edo PDP Chairman Regains Freedom After Days In Captivity

The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State has been released after being held captive for eleven days.

Aziegbemi returned to his home around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, according to Senator Odion Ugbesia. It is not known if a ransom was paid for his release.

Aziegbemi was kidnapped on March 16, 2024, by unknown gunmen near his home in Benin City, the capital of Edo State.

He was followed by his abductors in two Toyota Corolla cars, who overtook his jeep on Odaro Street off Country Home Road around 11 p.m. on Friday.
