After 12 more dead were discovered on Monday, police in Kenya investigating a doomsday cult exhumed 403 bodies from the Shakahola woodland.

Hundreds of people associated with the Good News International Church are alleged to have starved to death, been severely beaten, or strangled in Kenya‘s Shakahola forest.

Paul Mackenzie, the cult’s leader, preached that the world was going to end and supposedly urged his followers to starve to death in order to see Jesus.

Mr Mackenzie has not yet been charged formally.
