A court in Ekiti has ordered that the killer of two traditional rulers in the state be kept in custody at the Correctional Custody in Ado-Ekiti for 30 days.
The order is coming after the arraigned Bubuga Lede, 25, who is accused of killing two traditional rulers in the state.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Osuolale Yomi, told the Magistrate Court that there are valid reasons to keep the defendant in the Correctional Centre in Ado-Ekiti.
Yomi mentioned that the defendant is suspected of being involved in crimes such as conspiracy to kidnap, attempted murder, and the murder of Oba David Babatunde Ogunsakin and Oba Samuel Olatunde Ishola.
The prosecutor also claimed that the defendant tried to kidnap Oba Samuel Adebayo Fatoba and Bamidele Ibikunle Joseph (the driver).
He stated that these offenses are punishable under Sections 280, 241, and 234 of the Criminal Code Law of Ekiti State 2021.
The prosecutor explained that the defendant was apprehended in Ikole-Ekiti on January 29 with weapons.
He mentioned that the case file has been sent to the Ekiti State DPP for legal advice.
The defendant was represented by Barrister Olusoji Oladele.
The Magistrate, O. F. Bamidele, ordered the defendant to be kept in Ado-Ekiti Correctional Custody for 30 days until legal advice is received from the DPP. The case was adjourned until April 24 for further proceedings.
