The African Cup of Nations (AFCON) host, Cote d’Ivoire, defeated Guinea-Bissau 2-0 on Saturday night in their opening game.

Cote d’Ivoire took the lead early thanks to a brilliant strike by Seko Fofana, which went in off a precise pass inside the box, inside the right post, and into the net.

Jean-Philippe Krasso was free in the box shortly before the half ended, and Jonathan Bamba found him with a pass. However, his strong shot narrowly missed the right post.

In the fifty-eighth minute of play, the home team scored their second goal. The ball broke to Jean-Philippe Krasso in the area, and he shot the rebound low into the goal’s centre.

Franculino grabbed a loose pass inside the box in the 74th minute and fired a fantastic shot that went to the left side of the goal. But Yahia Fofana saw the shot coming and made an incredible stop.
