Nicolas Jackson has agreed terms with Chelsea ahead of a €35 million (£29.8m/$38.3m) move to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues appear to be on the verge of adding another attacking talent to their roster. According to David Ornstein, Chelsea has agreed on personal terms with Jackson and is negotiating a transfer fee with Villarreal. The 21-year-old’s deal is said to include a €35 million release clause.

Jackson had a good finish to the 2022-23 season, scoring nine goals in his team’s final eight La Liga games. New Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino is said to have been impressed by his exploits, and the duo are expected to collaborate over the upcoming season.

The impending arrival of Jackson raises concerns regarding Kai Havertz’s future at Chelsea. Arsenal is interested in Havertz, and while the Blues rejected an initial approach for the forward, he is eager to transfer across London.

Chelsea have a hectic summer ahead of them. N’Golo Kante has already committed to join Al-Ittihad, while Mason Mount is being courted by Manchester United, who are planning a final approach for the England international. Many additional players are expected to go as part of a massive purge following two periods of extravagant spending.
