Brighton Reject Chelsea’s Fresh £80m Bid For Moises Caicedo

Published:

Chelsea‘s £80 million ($103 million) deal for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo has been rejected.

Chelsea’s current offer for Caicedo, costing £80 million, has been rejected “immediately” by Brighton, according to Fabrizio Romano. The club has already made three bids, the first two totaling £60 million ($77 million) and £70 million ($90 million), and it remains to be seen if a fourth follows.

According to Romano, the teams are still negotiating and have not reached an agreement. Caicedo is valued at more than £100 million ($128 million) by Brighton, after Declan Rice moved to Arsenal for £105 million ($135 million) earlier this summer.

Chelsea, under new manager Mauricio Pochettino, are aiming to reform their team, and have already added Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, and Angelo this summer, while allowing 13 players leave permanently.

Chelsea will almost certainly consider making a fourth bid for the Ecuador international.
