The Kaduna State House of Assembly has formed a committee to investigate the actions of the former governor, Nasir el-Rufai.

This committee’s main job is to review the loans, grants, and projects that were carried out between 2015 and 2023.

The committee was officially started on Tuesday, April 16, during a meeting at the Lord Lugard Legislative Complex in Kaduna.

In addition to looking into El-Rufai’s activities, the committee will also examine the actions of his close associates, including Jimi Lawal, who served as a senior counselor on investment.

Other individuals under scrutiny include former speakers of the 8th and 9th Assembly, finance commissioners, former managing directors of Kaduna markets, and budget and planning commissioners, among others.

The assembly has tasked this panel with investigating financial transactions, loans, grants, and project implementation from 2015 to 2023.
