Chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and Bukola Saraki, have extended their congratulations to Bala Mohammed for his triumph at the court of appeal.

The Abuja division of the Appeal Court recently affirmed Mohammed’s position as the governor of Bauchi state.

In a statement on his official X handle, former presidential candidate of PDP, Atiku Abubakar, expressed his delight over Mohammed’s victory, emphasizing that it signifies the adherence to the democratic process.

“Congratulations, H.E. @SenBalaMohammed, on your affirmed victory in the March 18 governorship election. This victory is a testament to the democratic process in this case and your unwavering dedication to the people of Bauchi State. Your leadership and commitment, as evidenced by this triumph, continue to inspire many. I am confident that Bauchi State will achieve greater heights and notable advancements under your governance. I wish you continued success in your endeavours to serve our people,” he wrote.

Former Senate President Saraki, in his congratulatory message, wrote: “The Appeal Court’s judgement upholding the election of my dear brother and friend, Senator Bala Mohammed, as the duly elected Governor of Bauchi is a triumph for democracy and the people of Bauchi State. I congratulate my dear brother, and our great party on this victory!”

However, the PDP stalwarts who congratulated the Bauchi state governor remained silent about the appeal court verdict that removed PDP’s Dauda Lawal as the governor of Zamfara State.

It is worth noting that the Court of Appeal in Abuja invalidated Governor Dauda Lawal’s position in Zamfara and declared the March governorship election in the state inconclusive.

The court also mandated a rerun in three local government areas: Maradun, Birnin-Magaji, and Bukkuyum.
