Nigerian singer Falz has called on Nigerians to stop bullying Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi.

Iwobi faced criticism for his performance in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where Nigeria lost 2-1 to Ivory Coast.

Falz took to his social media handle to defend Iwobi against the online harassment.

He added that each player who wears the green and white jersey to represent Nigeria in the AFCON match has made sacrifices and should not be treated poorly.

Falz wrote; “We win together, we lose together. Every single player that puts on the green-white-green to represent us, is making an immense sacrifice and does not deserve to be treated with this much disdain.

“We speak a lot about cyberbullying, but we are so quick to turn against our own. @alexanderiwobi Love you bro! Thank you.”
