Access Bank Plc has confirmed the news of the death of its Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Herbert Wigwe, in a helicopter accident.

Wigwe, who was accompanied by his wife, son, and former Group Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, were involved in the crash that occurred in the United States on Saturday.

In a statement shared on its official social media platform, the bank paid emotional tribute to its departed CEO, describing him as a visionary leader.

The statement reads,

“With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Dr. Herbert Wigwe, Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings.
