Mohbad: Naira Marley Has Top Politicians Behind Him — Tonto Dikeh

Published:

Nollywood actress turned politician Tonto Dikeh has claimed that Naira Marley, the owner of Marlian Records, has important political supporters.

This was revealed by the actress in response to Naira Marley‘s tweet following his detention by police on Tuesday evening following a probe into the circumstances of the death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

On X on Tuesday night, the Lagos Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that Naira Marley had been detained shortly after his return to Nigeria.

Also, a few minutes later, Naira Marley wrote in a post on his X: “I would like to share that I have just arrived back in Lagos, Nigeria, to assist the authorities with the ongoing investigation.

“It’s important I do my part for Imole. I will be meeting with the police with hopes for the truth to be uncovered and for justice to prevail.”

However, in a widely shared social media video, the musician was seen being guarded at the airport before being taken into police custody.

Tonto Dikeh responded to this on her Instagram page, saying that in a just society, Naira Marley would be handcuffed and not tweeting about his return on his phone.

Tonto analyzed the singer’s confidence in police detention, saying, “Look who has come back to NIGERIA to assist the police investigate why he and Sam Larry tortured Mohbad.

“I ask again, who are those protecting Naira Marley? In the right country, he should be in handcuffs and chains, rather than having a phone to tweet.

“Naira Marley’s confidence looks to me like he has some top political underdogs by his side.”

Following the disputes surrounding Mohbad’s murder, Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry, were accused of having a hand in Mohbad’s unfortunate death when a series of papers and videos appeared on social media showing the couple relentlessly tormenting Mohbad for leaving the record company.
