There appears to be a movement in resolving the standoff between management and students at the University of Lagos over the increase in school and dorm fees.
The university administration on Friday, reversed course and agreed to a price reduction.
The decision was made during a meeting between the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) management and leadership, as well as university faculty presidents.
The student leaders demanded that the increase in tuition fees and housing charges be reversed, as well as the return of the university’s student union.
While agreeing to an immediate cut in tuition and housing expenses, university officials vowed to begin work on the school’s return of the students union.
