Chelsea have reportedly offered Santos €20 million (£17 million/$22 million) for Brazilian wonderkid Deivid Washington.
Chelsea have been linked with a transfer for Deivid Washington, an 18-year-old striker. According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, the Blues have made a bid for the Santos youth, personal terms have been agreed upon, he wants the transfer, and a loan move to Strasbourg in Ligue 1 will follow.
Washington, who has two goals in nine appearances this season, would become the west London club’s eighth signing of the summer transfer window if he is signed. To date, they have spent more than €180 million (£141 million/$198 million) on recruits, including Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disasi, Nicolas Jackson, Lesley Ogochukwu, Angelo, and Diego Moreira, who joined on a free transfer.
Washington is a centre-forward who made his Santos debut in April before scoring his first professional goal a month later. He can also play as a left or right flank. He would be the second Santos youth player to join Chelsea this summer, following Angelo’s departure in July.
If signed, Washington could join Chelsea in the coming days before joining Strasbourg for the start of the Ligue 1 season on August 11.
