Following heavy backlashes from Nigerians, Vera Anyim, the woman who gained fame after her testimony at the Dunamis International Gospel Centre in Abuja, has publicly apologized for asking for donations to rent a new apartment.
In a video that went viral last Thursday, Anyim, who referred to herself as a celebrity, asked Nigerians to assist her in finding a new place to live.
While issuing the apology, Anyim explained that the situation unfolded quickly, and she was simply trying to defend herself.
“I’m sorry for seeking public support regarding my accommodation it was because I wasn’t feeling safe and the fear of being kidnapped because everyone around thought I was given plenty money from Port Harcourt and this whole thing I wasn’t ready for it. I didn’t force anyone, please forgive me,” she wrote on Facebook.
Allub Times recalls that the senior pastor of the church, Paul Enenche, interrupted Vera’s testimony about graduating from the Open University of Nigeria in a viral video on social media, leading to nationwide criticism.
