Insurgency: COAS Praises Troops’ Unwavering Strength, Vows Continued Support

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja, praised the troops of the 1st Brigade of the of the Nigerian Army for their hard work and dedication in fighting terrorism and insurgency in North West Nigeria.

He visited the brigade’s area of responsibility in Gusau, Zamfara State, on April 6, 2024, where he was briefed by Brig Gen. Sani Ahmed on the troops’ activities and successes in Operation Desert Sanity II.

Gen. Lagbaja promised to provide more support to the Brigade, including combat enablers and other operational needs, to help them better protect their area.

The Chief of Army Staff also took the chance to visit the Emir of Gusau, HRH Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Bello Sarkin Katsinan Gusau. During the visit, he thanked the royal father and the people of Gusau for their support of the troops and the Nigerian Army.

He promised that with ongoing support and cooperation from the people, terrorism and insurgency would be defeated.
