President Bola Tinubu presented the flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to Monday Okpebholo, the governorship candidate of the party in the upcoming Edo gubernatorial election.

Allub Times reports that the flag was handed over to Okpebholo and the deputy governorship candidate of the APC, Dennis Idahosa, at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Abuja.

The national chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, along with other members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and Edo APC stakeholders, witnessed the event.

The flag presentation ceremony took place after the APC chose Idahosa as the running mate for their governorship candidate in Edo State.

Idahosa was introduced at a meeting on Sunday night, which was attended by APC National Chairman Ganduje, former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole, Okpebholo, and a few other party leaders.

Idahosa had previously competed for the APC ticket in the Edo governorship election but lost to Okpebholo, who eventually became the party’s candidate for the November 21, 2024 election.

Now that Idahosa has been selected as the deputy governorship candidate, it is expected that he will drop his lawsuit against the party regarding the Edo primary election results.
