The Flying Eagles of Nigeria are eager to advance to the semi-finals as they face Senegal in their last Group B match at the 13th African Games on Friday night.
Ladan Bosso‘s team is currently in second place in Group B with three points from two matches.
They began their campaign with a 2-1 loss to Uganda’s Hippos, but managed to secure a 1-0 victory against South Sudan in their second match.
A draw against Senegal will be sufficient for them to progress to the next round.
In the previous edition of the African Games held in Morocco, the Flying Eagles finished in second place.
Nigeria’s last gold medal in men’s football was in 1973.
