Woman Jumps Into River From Moving Boat In Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that a woman who got on a boat from Igando in Lagos State to Ogun reportedly leaped into the river from the moving boat.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident to reporters on Sunday evening, mentioning that rescue teams were already searching for the woman.

A man named Rasaq reported the case to the Igando Police Division on Sunday around 8:00 a.m..

Rasaq explained that at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, a woman named Folashade Nimotalahi, whose address is unknown, boarded a boat from Isuti Jet, Isuti Road, Igando in Lagos, heading to Totowu in Ogun.

“There were 12 passengers on board. Suddenly, the woman removed the life jacket she was wearing and jumped into the river.

“She left behind one nylon bag containing a bottle of sniper, Alimosho General Hospital cards, and some drugs,” the spokesperson quoted Rasaq as saying in his report.

The PPRO mentioned that detectives from the division quickly went to the scene of the incident.

He also stated that a search party was called to find the body, and an investigation was underway while they tried to reach out to the family.
