Everton suffered a 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford against Manchester United, with the home team scoring two penalties in the first half.

This loss extended Everton’s winless streak in the Premier League to 11 matches.

Manchester United, led by Erik ten Hag, bounced back from their recent loss to Manchester City with goals from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.

Despite having possession, Everton failed to capitalize on their chances and made costly mistakes that led to the penalties.

The defeat narrowed the gap between Manchester United and fifth-placed Tottenham to three points.

The visitors have only won once at Old Trafford in 31 league matches and are currently fifth from the bottom of the table.

The Toffees are five points ahead of Luton, who are third-from-bottom but have played two fewer games. United will face Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals next Sunday, while Everton will have a three-week break before their next league match against Bournemouth on March 30, where they will be looking for their first league win of the year.
