After assertions by some veterans in the Nigerian music industry that they paved the way for Nigerian artists, popular Nigerian artist Illbliss has issued a challenge to these veterans, urging them to release their music.

During an interview on Channels TV, Illbliss was asked to weigh in on the ongoing debates within the Nigerian music industry regarding the contributions of artists who paved the way for others.

The rapper emphasized that everyone is entitled to their own perspective, so if certain artists claim that they weren’t given opportunities, that is their viewpoint. Despite the lack of record deals from older musicians, Illbliss asserted that every emerging artist draws inspiration from their predecessors.

He further challenged the veterans to produce music themselves while expressing concern over the prevalent ageism issue in Nigeria. Illbliss remarked on the negative energy from the veterans, contrasting it with the hard work put in by younger artists.

In response to Illbliss’s remarks, Nigerian singer Ric Hassani praised him, stating, “That’s why this man is my big brother, and I respect him. This is INTELLIGENCE!!! Ah ah! Mchew mehnnnn. God bless you respect @illBlissGoretti.”
