Teenager Drowns While Swimming At Lagos Beach

Kelvin Onyengba, a 13-year-old boy, drowned while hanging out at Alatise Beach in the Ajah area of Lagos State.

The incident happened around 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday when Kelvin was swimming with five friends.

According to a police source, the tragedy occurred on February 27 due to the strong waves in the sea.

The source, “The incident happened yesterday. The mother of the boy said that the wave of the water swept her son. According to her, he went out with five of his friends to swim and hang out, but unfortunately, the boy did not come back to his parents.”

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident when contacted.

He mentioned that detectives had visited the scene, and the deceased’s family was still waiting for the missing body.

“The scene of the incident was visited by detectives from the division while the family was waiting for the body to emerge from the sea.

Allub Times recalls that a Lagos-based prophet named Oriyomi Remilekun drowned during a beach hangout in the Ajah area to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

The incident occurred when Oriyomi led some youths from his church to Avista Beach on February 17. A source revealed that the picnic ended abruptly when Oriyomi went missing.
