EFCC Nabs Three Men Over Alleged Currency Racketeering

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has detained Ekene Ibegbu over allegations of participating in a fraudulent scheme worth more than N1.5 million.

Dele Oyewale, the spokesperson for the anti-corruption agency, disclosed the arrest in a statement released on Saturday in Abuja.

Ibegbu was apprehended on Thursday by the Commission’s Special Task Force stationed at the Enugu Command while traveling along the Owerri-Enugu Road.

Oyewale stated that the arrest was made based on credible information regarding Ibegbu’s suspected involvement in illegal currency activities.
