Nollywood actor Kanayo O Kanayo has issued a call to parents, urging them to thoroughly investigate the origins of their children’s wealth before accepting monetary gifts from them.

This cautionary advice was delivered by the actor at a recent event, the details of which were widely shared on social media.

In a viral video clip, Kanayo stressed the importance of parents instilling a practice of inquiry into their children’s acquisitions, noting that a lax approach in this regard could foster corrupt mindsets in the younger generation.

He cautioned parents to exercise caution when receiving lavish gifts from their children, particularly if the children are not engaged in meaningful endeavors. Kanayo emphasized the potential dangers by presenting scenarios where children, without evident sources of income, provide expensive gifts to their parents.

He warned that failure to scrutinize such situations could have dire consequences, as illustrated by the stark statement, “You wouldn’t live long.” He noted that this is a prevailing issue among parents, who often overlook questionable wealth and possessions acquired by their children without probing further.
