Barcelona has been knocked out of the Copa del Rey after a 4-2 defeat to Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday night.

In a thrilling quarter-final match, brothers Inaki and Nico Williams both scored in extra time. The hosts took an early lead with a goal from Gorka Guruzeta in the first minute.

However, Barcelona responded with two goals from Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal before halftime.

Athletic managed to equalize in the 49th minute with a powerful header from Oihan Sancet and eventually secure the victory in extra time.

Athletic will now join Real Sociedad, Mallorca, and the winner of Thursday’s match between Atletico Madrid and Sevilla in the semifinals.
