Nigerian artist Ruger has reportedly severed ties with Jonzing World, the label that has been his home since 2019.
Jonzing World introduced Ruger as its flagship artist in 2020, and the talented Dancehall sensation quickly made a mark in the mainstream with his debut EP ‘Pandemic,’ featuring hit tracks like ‘Ruger,’ ‘Bounce,’ and ‘Abu Dhabi.’
Following his initial success, Ruger continued to ascend in the industry with his sophomore EP ‘Second Wave,’ delivering chart-topping singles like ‘Dior’ and ‘Girl Friend.’ In 2023, he dropped his debut album ‘Ru The World’ under Jonzing World, boasting standout tracks such as ‘Asiwaju,’ ‘Jonzing Boy,’ and ‘Bun Bun.’
After four years with Jonzing World, Ruger has chosen to part ways with the label. The artist is now venturing into new territory by establishing his own label, Blown Boy Entertainment, a move he teased in a recent freestyle video shared on his Instagram story.
