The Nigerian military has recently completed a procurement deal for 13 advanced armoured vehicles from Turkey.

The collaboration between Asisguard and Nurol Makine, Turkish defence industry companies, is expected to greatly improve security along the Abuja-Kaduna highway.

The Yoruk 4×4 armoured vehicles, manufactured in Turkey, are known for their versatility and strength.

They are equipped with various weapon systems, including machine guns, grenade launchers, and air and anti-tank weaponry.

This initiative aims to support the soldiers responsible for securing the Abuja-Kaduna highway, an important route connecting the Nigerian capital, Abuja, to Kaduna state in the northwest.

The vehicles are crucial in enhancing the military’s efforts to protect the important road due to their speed and versatile weapons.

Baris Duzgun, the general manager of Asisguard, stated that the company has secured a $36.5 million contract with Nigeria’s Defence Ministry, as reported by Anadolu.

He said, “We will contribute to the security of the region with our stakeholders in Turkey, with the latest indigenous technology systems and products.”
