Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State swore in 21 new permanent secretaries and 14 special advisers on Tuesday.

He highlighted that their selection was transparent and unbiased, with no political favouritism involved.

“We selected the best in competence, experience, dedication to duty, and proven fear of God,” Governor Yusuf remarked during the swearing-in ceremony.

He encouraged the recently appointed officials to work hard and aim for excellence, assuring them that their contributions were crucial for a better future for Kano.

Yusuf emphasised the important role these individuals have in promoting a renewed dedication to transforming Kano into a symbol of hope and progress.

He strongly emphasised the need to reject incompetence and unethical behaviour in their positions, urging the appointees to fully commit themselves to serving the people and advancing the state’s interests.

“While acknowledging the inevitability of human error, I urge caution in fulfilling the oath you’ve taken,” he cautioned, highlighting the need for immaculate service delivery.

The governor strongly recommended against using political concerns as a measure for carrying out their responsibilities, emphasising a culture of honesty and avoiding gossip.

“Should you faithfully discharge your duties, boundless opportunities await,” Governor Yusuf affirmed, concluding his address to the new appointees.
