Following their 10-point deduction for violating the Profitability and Sustainability Rules of the Premier League, rumours have been circulating that Everton may face additional sanctions.
As a consequence, Sean Dyche’s team now faces a greater chance of going into administration, and losing by more points is not ruled out.
Consequently, the Toffees are expected to have multiple marquee exits. Stars like Branthwaite have been linked with leaving Merseyside, but Everton doesn’t seem to be in a rush to let go of the former Carlisle player.
The Toffees have reportedly placed a whopping £100 million price tag on the 21-year-old in an effort to discourage teams from trying their resolve, according to The Independent.
The team believes that “he has everything” needed to compete at the highest level and refers to him as a “Rolls Royce defender.”
Under Dyche’s careful supervision, Everton anticipates that Branthwaite will continue to develop before eventually breaking into the England first team. If that were to happen, his value would increase even more.
Everton does not have to try to make a deal with any of his suitors, including Erik ten Hag’s United, because the 21-year-old is under contract with the Toffees until 2027. If they expect future financial penalties, they might instead try to offload other players.
