Two members of the House of Representatives, Awaji-Inombek Abiante and Boma Goodhead, led a solidarity march to the Rivers State Government House on Friday to show their support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Abiante represents Andoni/Opobo/Nkiru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, while Goodhead represents Asari-Toru/Akuku-Toru Federal Constituency.

Both lawmakers are affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and were accompanied by some members of the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC).

Two federal lawmakers led the IYC youths on a march from the UTC Junction along Azikiwe Road to Government House and then to the State House of Assembly on Moscow Road in Port Harcourt.

During the march, the lawmakers addressed the youths and expressed their support for Fubara, stating that they would not allow him to be bullied and humiliated by the former Rivers Governor.

They also emphasised that the people of the state are standing behind the governor.

The march took place amidst the ongoing political crisis in the state, which stems from the conflict between Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
