Carlo Ancelotti will have to make a few changes to his starting lineup for Real Madrid’s La Liga trip to Real Betis this coming weekend.
The manager, while responding to a question on who would start in goal at the Estadio Benito Villamarin, said that Andriy Lunin and Kepa Arrizabalaga would start together once they return to full fitness.
Ancelotti’s defensive options are the same as they were in the previous game, a home victory over Granada, with the exception of Dani Carvajal, who is sidelined due to injury.
Club captain Nacho Fernandez may be able to take Carvajal’s place now that Luka Modric is healthy and back in the lineup.
To enable Ancelotti to rotate the squad more, Modric might start this game. However, the veteran Croatian is also scheduled to play in the Champions League against Union Berlin in midweek.
Despite coming off the bench against Granada, teenage sensations Nico Paz and Gonzalo Garcia Torres have also managed to hold onto their roster spots.
