11 Killed, 20 Abducted In Fresh Zamfara Attack

Published:

Bandits in Zamfara State killed at least 11 people and abducted 20 women and children on Sunday night.

Reports say around 250 terrorists attacked Gidan Zuma village in the Bungudu Local Government Area, resulting in the deaths of 11 people and the abduction of 20 women and an unknown number of children.

Residents in the surrounding communities are now living in fear.

A resident said, “They (bandits) can strike at any time, and security forces would arrive only after they’ve left.”

The resident, who requested to remain anonymous, said that “they kidnapped my wife with our little kid. Only God knows how they’re faring, considering the hot weather and the Ramadan fast.

“They shot and killed 11 persons, among them my only brother, while on neighborhood patrol as a volunteer vigilante. They forced 20 women and a lot of children into the bush,” he added.
