Wizkid Warns Fans Ahead Of Album Release As He Denounces Afrobeats

Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, also known as Wizkid, has stated that he is not an Afrobeats artist.

Wizkid made the stunning disclosure on his Instagram page through his Instastories on Friday night, just before the release of his upcoming album.

The popular singer cautioned fans not to anticipate an Afrobeats style in his new project, and suggested that those who are not interested in the music should remove him from their playlist.

He wrote, “Album done! See you soon b*tches!

“And abeg if you like Pakurumo Wizkid, don’t download this new album. In fact, delete me from your playlist and your life!

“If you like Afrobeats, don’t download my album. I’m not a f*cking Afrobeats artiste. I am not Afro anything.”
