President Bola Tinubu’s administration introduced the Citizens’ Delivery Tracker on Monday to create a better connection between citizens and the government regarding the key areas of focus for the president.
The President’s Special Adviser on Policy and Coordination, Hadiza Bala-Usman, announced this during the launch event of the CDT in Abuja.
Bala-Usman mentioned that the platform is currently accessible through a web link (app.cdcu.gov.ng) and will soon be available as a downloadable app.
In her words: “The platform is available as a web link (app.cdcu.gov.ng) and will be available as an app for download in the next few months.”
She explained that the unveiling on Monday marks the end of a lengthy process that began when Tinubu first mentioned plans for ministerial assessment at a Cabinet Retreat for ministers and heads of government agencies last November.
The presidential aide clarified that in order to meet the key performance indicators, the Central Delivery Coordination Unit (CDCU) held several meetings with Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) over a period of six weeks.
The eight main areas of focus are: economic reform for sustainable inclusive growth, improving national security for peace and prosperity, promoting agriculture for food security, and utilizing energy and natural resources for sustainable development.
Other priorities include enhancing infrastructure and transportation to support growth, prioritizing education, health, and social investment as essential elements of development, speeding up diversification through industrialization, digitization, creative arts, manufacturing, and innovation, and improving governance for effective service delivery.
