Caroline Wuraola Adepoju has been confirmed as the substantive Comptroller General (CG) of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) by President Bola Tinubu.

She informed the Immigration Service workforce of this at the Comptroller General’s parade on Wednesday in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

Adepoju, who was appointed interim CG after the tenure of the previous acting CG, Isah Jere, expired on May 29, said the date for the decoration will be announced shortly.

“You may also wish to know that through the grace of God and by the benevolence of the present government, I have been confirmed as a substantive Comptroller General of Immigration,” a statement by the Public Relations Unit of the Service quoted her as saying.

The new CG also revealed that several senior management team members who participated in a promotion exam have been promoted to the positions of Deputy Comptrollers General, and that the date of their decoration would be announced soon.

Adepoju also asked officers to observe a minute of silence in memory of service personnel who died in the line of duty a few weeks ago, requesting that the Almighty God rest their souls.

She also thanked all officers and men for their assistance to the NIS leadership. She praised the senior management team, Zonal Coordinators, State Comptrollers, and Passport Officers both at home and abroad.
